US Senator Warren: Fed Chair Powell has failed as a leader

US Senator Elizabeth Warren noted on Tuesday that she is concerned about corruption at the Federal Reserve, as reported by Reuters.

Warren further added that FOMC Chairman Jerome Powell has failed as a leader, citing the culture at the Fed and the response to the outcry over trading activities of policymakers.

Market reaction

Following these comments, the USD started to weaken against its major rivals. As of writing, the US Dollar Index (DXY) was up only 0.05% on a daily basis at 93.85.
