Coronavirus update: Second-wave fears ramping up, as China reports 68 new infections

The latest coronavirus count is begin reported from across the globe, with the second wave fears gripping the markets.

China’s National Health Commission (NHC) reported 68 new cases in the mainland for July 27, up from 61 cases a day earlier. Of the new infections, 57 were in the far western region of Xinjiang.

Australia's no. 2 populous state of Victoria recorded 384 new infections on Tuesday vs. 532 previous day’s surge.

Meanwhile, according to the Reuters tally, California coronavirus cases rise by at least 10,549 on Monday to 463,439 total, which now surpasses Massachusetts in total COVID-19 deaths.

The state also ranks third in the nation for fatalities.
