Fed's Mester: I'm still viewing the economy as on track for that gradual pace of funds rate increases
During an interview with The Wall Street Journal, Cleveland Fed's President Loretta Mester stated that she's still viewing the economy as on track for that gradual pace of funds rate increases.
Key quotes (via WSJ):
- The labor market is on track ... The other measures that are broader measures that some people like to focus on, they're all coming down. So I think we're probably a little beyond full employment from that point of view.
- I never built in a large fiscal policy boost. I was always a little skeptical that things would all of a sudden get all these changes.
