Turkish Lira hits session lows following Russian ambassador shot's reports

Turkish Lira and Russian Ruble tested fresh session lows against the US Dollar, following reports of Russian ambassador’s Andrei Karlov shot in Ankara, Turkey, during an art show.

At the time of writing, USD/TRY is trading at 3.5263, up 0.58% on the day, while USD/RUB is trading at 61.8747, down -0.32% on the day, after retracing from 62.045.

According to Anadolu Agency, Ambassador Karlov was speaking at opening of photo exhibit and he was taken to the hospital. Interfax is reporting that Russian president Vladimir Putin has been informed about the situation.
