US stocks set fresh intraday records

US stocks extended gains on Monday, with main Wall Street indexes reaching intraday record highs, supported by higher oil prices and fading hopes of an imminent rate hike by the Fed before the year ends.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 0.48% at 18,665, having struck a record intraday high of 18,668. The S&P 500 was up 0.39% at 2,192 within a striking distance of its record. The Nasdaq Composite gained 0.58% at 5,263, near a peak of 5,265.
